Travel the World Around You, the debut children’s book from Christopher Mitchell is a fun, colourful adventure for the ages centred around Theo and his trusty sidekick, Kotu. If you know the author personally, you’ll know that Kotu is indeed also Christopher’s trusty sidekick, and a regular in his office, often peering out the window at passersby while he hammers away on his keyboard.
While the vocabulary lends itself more to the primary school age group, the illustrations help to ensure that this can be a book enjoyed by all ages.

Through his ups and downs, as he tries to get all his stamps for his “travel scholarship passport”, Theo learns some important lessons about travel that all kids need to know. Most importantly, that travel isn’t about where you go, it’s about how you go. But the real question is - can Theo get all the stamps he needs for his passport? And can silly little Kotu help him in this challenge?

About the Author
Christopher Mitchell is a travel writer based in Toronto, Canada. He is the Founder of the travelingmitch brand and website, as well as the Cofounder of Ultimate Ontario & We Explore Canada, along with helping to run communities to enable fellow writers and creators to chase their dreams.
His mom worked for a time in children’s publishing, and there were always ample books in the house, which is something Chris realizes in retrospect had an enormous impact on his life. Chris studied English Literature at Queen’s University, and still credits books with being his secret weapon for slowing the world down, understanding that everything is, in a way, connected — and that anything is possible.
